They're Auctioning Off Mac Tonight's Head

Mac Tonight

On December 1st, Hollywood auctioneers the Prop Store will present their "TV Treasures" lot, curated by the Comisar Collection, a dizzying array of tantalizing objects used in our favorite boob tube productions. A Klingon disrupter from "Star Trek," the Riddler's jacket from "Batman," a bunch of crap from "Lost" and "Breaking Bad" — it's all here. The true jewel among these small screen props, however, is the actual giant moon head worn by Doug Jones when he portrayed intergalactic lounge singer Mac Tonight in that classic series of late 1980s McDonald's commercials.

"The head is in very good, production-used condition," the listing says, "... with foam still supple." In a truly shocking reveal, the Mac Tonight lot proves our lunar burger shill had eyeballs beneath those Ray Charles shades, beautiful blue acrylic eyeballs that beckon you to consume more clown grease.

Mac Tonight's head has a starting bid $1,250 but the dang thing is expected to go for something in the neighborhood of $2,500 to $3,500. Of course, this is an investment that will pay for itself several times over once it's proudly displayed in your front hall, mesmerizing every guest you receive who can and will in fact remember the '80s.
